CASology #251: MEDICINE

Hello, friends!  It's time for a new cue card at CASology and this week it's all about MEDICINE!

This cue could not have come at a better time in my house.  We have all been battling a nasty virus -- congestion, coughing, fevers for some of us. What kind of spring is this, anyway?  It's definitely not allergies.  Trust me when I tell you that, with six of us in the house battling this thing, our kitchen counter is FULL of medicine.

I wish we had some of these on our counter...

Supplies:
Stamps: Art Impressions (Get Well); Paper Smooches (Shadows)
Dies: STAMPlorations (Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangular Nesting Die)
Other: Sizzix embossing folder (Three Dots)

I can't wait to see how you interpret the cue card this week!  Be sure to link up your CAS card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs, too!

Addicted to CAS: Graduation

Hello, friends!  I am here today to share a card I made for the new Addicted to CAS Challenge #112: Graduation.

Just as a reminder, they list the definition of "Clean and Simple" at the blog:

For my card, I made the one main focal point my die cut numbers -- the graduation year of 2017 -- made from green foil paper.  I left lots of open white space by keeping my focal point at the bottom of the card.  Minimal layers, no embellishments, and flat. I love CAS cards!

Supplies:
Stamps: Simon Says Stamp (Friendship Messages)
Inks: MFT (Black Licorice)
Dies: PTI (By the Numbers)
Other: DCWV (Foil and glitter card stock 6x6 pads)

I saved the die cut foil numbers and will likely use them on another graduation card.

You may be wondering why I keep using green on my graduation cards this spring?  I have three kids in high school and the school color is green.  Many of their friends in school are graduating this year and they are invited to lots of graduation parties, so these cards should come in handy!

Thanks for stopping by today!

CASology #250: LOUD

Hello, friends!  I'm happy to be here today with my card for the new cue at CASology.

This week we have a new sponsor...welcome to CASology, Sunny Studio Stamps!  If you haven't seen their products yet, you need to go check out the store.  I am in love with their new layering stamps (such as "Two Scoops" and "Perfect Popsicles")...they make the images look so real!

I was lucky enough to win a gift certificate to the Sunny Studio shop during one of the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hops, and I ordered two stamp sets.  "Holiday Style" is an amazing set that creates the most amazing jingle bells and glass ornaments I have ever seen!  I also ordered "Sunny Borders" and used these stamps on my card for this week's challenge.  I was sent a sweet little star die as part of my package, too...so I used it on my card.

With graduation season upon us, I immediately thought of how loud the ceremonies can be...the crowds, the music, the cheering!  I stamped a star border down the side of my card in a soft green ink, then used glitter paper for my die cut stars.  The sentiment banner was stamped and fussy cut, then attached to the main star.

Supplies:
Stamps: Sunny Studio Stamps (Sunny Borders)
Inks: MFT (Black Licorice), Hero Arts (Soft Leaf)
Dies: Spellbinder (Stars); Sunny Studio (small star)
Other: DCWV glitter paper

I can't wait to see how you interpret the cue card this week!  Be sure to link up your clean and simple LOUD card by noon on Monday (Central time).  Check out the team's blogs for more inspiration!

CASology #249: WARM

Hello, friends!  Thanks for stopping by today!  Just in time for the new cue card at CASology.

I used supplies from our sponsor, STAMPlorations, to make my card.  I know I love warm coffee all year round!  You may not notice right away, but I actually cut apart a "Warm Winter Wishes" die sentiment to just use the "warm wishes" portion on my card.  Isn't it great when you can use your seasonal dies for other purposes? I love that!

Supplies:
Stamps: STAMPlorations (Sketchy Coffee Cups); Papr Smooches (Shadows)
Dies: STAMPlorations (Warm Winter Wishes)
Inks: MFT (Black Licorice), Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Barn Door, Tumbled Glass, Shabby Shutters, Carved Pumpkin)
Other: Cuttlebug embossing folder border (Juli's Garden); DCWV brown glitter card stock

I am also playing along with several challenges today, including the following:

(1) STAMPlorations May CAS Card Challenge with the optional color twist of "feminine colors."

(2)  The Paper Players #344 - A Color Challenge from Claire using the fun colors below; I managed to find a patterned paper in my stash that had all four colors, then I added to it by splattering ink in the same four colors behind the cup:

(3)  CAS Mix Up Card Challenge  for May using this grid (I did stamping + splattering + paper-piecing as well as dry embossing):

I can't wait to see how you interpret the WARM cue card this week!  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs, too!

Hello, friends!  I'm here today with two cards for the current Freshly Made Sketches #287 challenge using this fun sketch by Jen:

I'm also playing along with the Addicted to Stamps and More #241: Anything Goes challenge.

Stamp: Hero Arts (Good Friends)

I'm also entering my second card into the current Addicted to CAS Challenge #111: Pink since my card is primarily pink "white space."

STAMPlorations & CAS(E) This Sketch #221 - Mother's Day Card

Hello, friends!  I'm here today to share a card I made for a couple of challenges:

(1) CAS(E) This Sketch #221 following this wonderful sketch by one of my favorite cardmakers ever, Donna Mikasa:

(2) STAMPlorations May CAS Card Challenge using the optional color twist of "Pastel Colors."

I am in need of two Mother's Day cards for this weekend, so I used these challenges as my inspiration for my first card.

Using my Mini Misti, I inked the STAMPlorations Mom Subway Art Builders #3 - Quiet Strength stamp and stamped it twice with black ink, then a third time using VersaMark ink and clear embossed it for some shine.  I watercolored it using some Hero Arts inks, then die cut it and popped it up on my card base using foam tape.

Supplies
Stamps: STAMPlorations (Mom Subway Art Builders #3 Quiet Strength)
Inks: MFT (Black Licorice), Hero Arts (Tide Pool, Orange Soda, Butter Bar)
Other:  Lawn Fawn (patterned paper), Sizzix/Hero Arts embossing folder (Florishes 3);  Lil' Inkers stitched rectangle die; foam tape; clear gems

While I'm at it, I will also link up this card to the STAMPlorations Never-Ending Anything Goes Challenge, too!

Thanks, as always, for stopping by!

CASology #248: COMMENCEMENT

Hello, friends!  I'm here today with a card for the next cue card at CASology.  We are getting ready for graduations, my friends!

We have lots of graduations to celebrate this spring...a niece from college, a nephew from high school, and lots of high school friends of my kids, too.

My nephew is graduating from the same high school my kids attend, and the school color is green.  So, I made the graduation cap green and accented it with some patterned paper.  (I will be making several more graduation cards featuring green, that's for sure!)

Supplies:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Signature Greetings, Tag Its #4)
Inks: MFT (Black Licorice), Hero Arts (Grass green chalk ink)
Other: ekSuccess border punch (Round Binding Edge), Cuttlebug border embossing folder (Pinking Stitch), Lawn Fawn 6x6 paper pad (Let's Polka In the Meadow), foam tape

I can't wait to see how you interpret the COMMENCEMENT cue this week!  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue...be sure to check out their blogs, too!

New Release at Precious Remembrance Shop!

Hello, friends!  It's an exciting day at the Precious Remembrance Shop because today is a new release day!  I'm excited to be sharing my first project using the new set, "Sketchy Alphabet."

What a fun alphabet set!  I love that the block letters allow you to add color or even paper-piece if you want!  The symbols and numbers make this set even more versatile.

For my card, I combined letters from the "Sketchy Alphabet" set with a sentiment from the "Positive Thoughts" set and colored the letters in with colored pencils.  I framed it with a light green glitter card stock frame and added some embellishments (layered flowers, sequins).

You may have already guessed that there is a prize involved in this fun blog hop...one lucky winner will win this stamp set!  Just hop along, starting at the Precious Remembrance Shop blog, and leave comments at each blog listed below letting us know what you think of the new set for your chance to win!

CASology #247: FLOW

Hello, friends! Tuesday has arrived, and that means it is time for a new cue card at CASology!

I thought of the flow of love between two people, the saying, "Let your love flow," and this pretty sentiment from an old Hero Arts set.  I paired it with the beautiful Altenew "Peony Bouquet" stamp set and framed my card with a dry-embossed frame.  Such a simple one-layer card, but the layers of this gorgeous flower add so much interest to an otherwise simple card.

I am amazed every time I add another layer of inked stamping...this stamp set will never get old in my book!  You can find it HERE, in our sponsor's store, if you are interested.

Supplies:
Stamps: Altenew (Peony Bouquet), Hero Arts (Treasure the Moments)
Inks: MFT (Black Licorice); Hero Arts (Jane's Blush ink cube layering ink set)
Other: Cuttlebug embossing folder (Pinking Stitch)

I can't wait to see how you interpret the FLOW cue card this week!  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week, so be sure to stop by their blogs, too!
